Since 2003: Work in  Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics as a responsible person (group leader) of the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider.

Lecturing

1996-2000, and since 2005: a course on Beam Diagnostics for undergraduate students in Novosibirsk State University.

Main contributions
  • Design of data processing algorithms and beam diagnostics software for the storage rings VEPP-3, VEPP-4M (BINP, Novosibirsk) 1-3, SIBERIA-2 (Kurchatov Institute, Moscow) 4,5, and INDUS-1 (CAT, Indore, India). For precision spectral analysis of particle beam oscillations, a new inter-harmonic method to refine Digital Fourier Transform has been developed 2,23,61.
  • Investigation of the transverse mode coupling instability (fast head-tail) and its suppression in the VEPP-4M collider using the feedback systems 10,26,57.
  • Experimental study of non-linear beam dynamics in the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider 6,18-21 and ELETTRA synchrotron radiation source 30,31,33,36. A new "single-BPM" method has been proposed to construct a phase space diagram of non-linear beam oscillation 8,24.
  • Investigation of coupling impedance at the VEPP-4 22,29 and ELETTRA 34,35 facilities. A new "orbit bump" method of measurement of local transverse impedance has been invented 22,25,38.
  • Computer simulations of particle beam dynamics in an undulator for the FERMI@ELETTRA LINAC-based FEL project 32,37.
  • Calculation of coupling impedance for the ALBA 51 and PETRA III 64 projects, using both analytical formulae and computer simulations (MAFIA and GdfidL codes).
  • Management of the VEPP-4 team in the high-energy physics experiments performed with the KEDR detector 62,63,66,67.
